Disney’s acclaimed The Help produced by Dreamworks cleaned up at the box office this weekend with $20.5 million. After debuting in the second spot last weekend the film was number one in the midweek derby as great word-of-mouth continued to sweep the nation as the film ascended to the top of the chart and an impressive $71.8 million by Sunday night.

Good news! “The Help” starring Emma Stone has been moved up 2 days, meaning it will be out in theaters on August 10th instead of the 12th!
DreamWorks and Disney have moved the opening of the Kathryn Stockett bestselling novel adaptation The Help to Aug. 10. They’ll open it Wednesday instead of its original Aug. 12 Friday date to make a long weekend out of it and take advantage of word of mouth. The Tate Taylor-directed film stars Emma Stone and Viola Davis.

Zombieland and Amazing Spider-Man actress Emma Stone has been offered the lead role in troubled book adaptation Pride And Prejudice And Zombies.
The film has long been struggling in pre-production, with numerous directors considering then dumping the project.
Stone has now been officially offered the role of zombie-butchering heroine Elizabeth Bennet in the adap of Seth Grahame-Smith’s book, which puts a spin on Jane Austen’s classic text.
Previously, Anne Hathaway, Scarlett Johansson and Mia Wasikowska were all being considered as replacements for Natalie Portman, who left the role last year.
